Although not as large, the Atlanta metro has a few Lakewood style suburban developments.
The two brick ranch houses were built within two miles of the Lockheed Martin aerospace plant near Marietta in unincorporated Cobb County. The streets are gridded and lots equal.
The white frame houses are built east of Decatur near I-285. Several parallel streets of identical houses were built in this area. The lots, houses, and streets were built assembly line style in the 1950s.

Great examples, Zack; I especially like the row at the bottom. Atlanta saw FHA-insured small houses only in smaller clusters, but they're everywhere, as you found in Marietta near Lockheed. What adaptations did you observe when looking at these houses? How has your opinion of such houses changed since reading D. J. Waldie?
