Gated Communities

Below are pictures from a gated community in Alpharetta. The communal spaces in the neighborhood as well as each individual home are very well manicured. The entrance to the neighborhood entails passing through a guardhouse, complete with a guard. Visitors must show thier license and obtain a vistor's pass to be displayed on the car's dashboard. This community most likely has certain restrictions as there were no tree houses or really anything out of the ordinary. Each home looked different from the next, but the well manicured landscaping and absence of anything other than trees, grass, or flowers in the front yards added a sense of conformity.

Above is the main entrance guard house.

The community includes a full 18 hole golf course. (And ample Christmas decorations)

For some, one set of gates is not enough. The above picture features a home that has an additional set of gates for its driveway.

This particularly large home features an enormous fountain and holiday wreath. It is interesting that something such as a tree house would be prohibited, presumably because it may be unsightly, but such an orate and odd fountain would be allowed (and at a central intersection of the neighborhood).

This picture shows the Star of David that adorns the back of the gatehouse at the back entrance of the neighborhood during the holiday season. I suppose, this tribute to the Jewish faith denotes that the neighborhood population is not totally homogenous.
